Much hyped NBA season ready to tip off

nba2010

The NBA season is about to tip off and it’s just in time. With LOST no longer on tv and Mad Men over for the year there really isn’t anything worth watching. For me, this season of NBA basketball might prove to be the most entertaining show around. Lebron made “the decision” to “take his talents to south beach” teaming up with his BFFs Wade and Bosh. A lot of people are predicting that Miami will tear through the league this season winning a championship and possibly surpassing Jordan and the Bulls 72 win record. Do I think this will happen? No. I think the Heat might have a problem even making it out of the East this year.

Orlando is still a very good team. If they somehow manage to get rid of Vince Carter and get someone decent in return, I like their chances even more. The Celtics are a deep team that came close to winning it all last year. They added a few role players including “The Big Shamrock” Shaq that should make them even better. I think Miami might have trouble defeating the C’s in a series.

Whoever wins the East, I don’t think it will matter. With Kobe, Gasol, my favourite player Ron Artest and Phil “going for a 4 peat 3 peat” Jackson at the helm I think the Lakers will be hard to beat. With the addition of Barnes and Blake they are an even better team than last year. Normally I like to root for the underdog, but this year I’m going to be pulling for the Lakers just to prove all the Miami bandwagoners wrong.

A few of the other teams I’m looking forward to watching this year are the Milwalkee Bucks, the Bulls, OKC and the Blazers. Don’t get me started on my home team the Raptors this year, they are going to be brutal.

It should be a great season. I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
